Did you know the lodge was originally built without Air Conditioning?  It wasn’t needed. Generally, the cool breeze of Lake Superior would keep the building cool without the need for A/C.  A few years ago, the trend for hotter days increased and A/C was installed in some of our rooms for the comfort of vacationing guests, however we do still suggest turning the A/C off and opening the windows to enjoy the full Lake Superior experience.

While usually you still need a layer to keep you warm up north, temps can still rise causing the craving for Ice Cream.  Luckily, you don’t need to go too far.  Head into Beaver Bay and stop at Big Dipper Ice Cream shop for a scoop or two of Bridgeman’s Ice Cream.
