Cove Point Lodge FAQs

What is your current cancellation policy?

 For cancellations made 14 days prior to arrival, we will refund your deposit, and reservations can be transferred to future arrival dates without penalty. For cancellations less than 14 days before arrival, the first night’s deposit is non-refundable, and cottage reservations can be transferred to future arrival dates for a $50 rebooking fee. There is no rebooking fee to transfer lodge room arrival dates, except for Grandma’s Marathon weekend reservations. We cannot accept cancellations due weather, but we will rebook them for a future date, or issue a Cove Point Gift Card in the amount of your deposit that never expires.

When can I check in, and what time is check out?

Check in begins at 4pm every day, and checkout is 11 am. For early check in and late check out requests please call the front desk on the day of your arrival. While we are not able to make any guarantees, we will do the very best we can to accommodate your request.

What are the dining options at Cove Point Lodge?

Lunch and Dinner: Dining on the North Shore
Our Lodge Dining Room is open 7 nights a week. Reservations are required and can be made by calling our front desk at 218-226-3221. We do recommend making reservations in advance of your arrival. We can seat parties of 6 or less, and as we have limited seating for parties of 6, and we encourage you to call ahead.

Are pets allowed?

We have a limited number of dog friendly rooms available. Two dogs are allowed per room. There is a $40 nightly fee for lodge rooms. These fees are not refundable. Dogs are restricted to certain areas of the property. Pets other than dogs are not permitted. Please click here for our waiver information.

When is the pool area open?

The pool area is open from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. The hours between 9:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m. are for adults, only.

Do you have DVD’s?

Enjoy a movie night after your days adventure.  We have DVD’s available in the lobby 24 hours a day for guests to use in their Lodge Room or Cottage at no charge.

Do you have board games?

Sit fireside in our lobby and enjoy a game with loved ones from our large selection. Guests are also welcomed to bring games to their room or cottage during their stay. We kindly ask that games be returned to the lodge before checking out of the resort.

What is Mickey’s Fish House?

The original structure on property, Mickey’s Fish House has been reinvigorated into a wonderful multi use space. Build a fire in the potbelly stove inside and read a book, play a game, or sit on the deck and enjoy one of our legendary sunrises. With a great view of our cove and majestic Lake Superior, this is the perfect spot to unwind and get a true North Shore experience!

What are the Cottage Amenities?

Our cottage guests enjoy all the comforts of home, with sweeping lake views! All units come with a fully equipped kitchen, a deck facing the lake, fireplace, regular style coffee pot, free Wi-Fi, and cable television. All linens are provided. Just bring your personal effects and stop in our local grocery store to stock up on ingredients for your homemade dinner! You’ll have use of our Lodge amenities like the pool, hot tub, sauna, games, and movies as well. 

Special appliances like crockpots and blenders are not supplied, and can be brought from home. Guests supply all of their own cooking ingredients, plastic wrap, and aluminum foil. 

What are the lodge room amenities?

Every room comes equipped with a microwave, mini refrigerator, DVD player, cable television, free Wi-Fi, hair dryer, Keurig coffee maker and pods, and a world class view.

Do you have bike rentals?

With the Gitchi Gami bike trail running through our property right at Highway 61 you can ride on a paved trail all the way to Gooseberry State Park to the south and Silver Bay to the north!

All bikes must be returned each night by 7:45 p.m. and the key should be returned to the front desk.
During the winter, we have two fat tire bikes available for rent. 

Where do we rent snowshoes?

We are happy to provide free snowshoe rental to our guests during the winter months. Ask us for suggestions, we always have some great trail maps available for you! We have adult and children’s sizes. We do not have cross country ski rentals.

Where do I work out?

We do not have a workout area in our Lodge, but we are located within minutes of 3 State parks, and one of the most beautiful hiking trail systems in the state. Stop by the front desk any time to get suggestions or maps of local hikes or state park information.
