We had it all last week at Cove Point Lodge on Lake Superior. On Tuesday, we had dangerous storms including sleet, winds, rain and on portions of Lake Superior we have 27 foot waves. And the lodge became a very busy place as the guests loved every minute of the pounding waves and wild winds.

30 Cargo Carriers Lost On Lake Superior

During November 1905 a terrible storm blew across Lake Superior. Thirty ships with crew were lost and as a result, Congress agreed to fund the building of Split Rock Lighthouse. 2010 is the 100 year birthday for the lighthouse and the restored facilities are located only a couple of miles from Cove Point Lodge. It is a North Shore must see attraction.
