Summer has arrived on the North Shore along with the guests. Our Frisbee golf course is filling in with more vegetation which means that players need to be more precise with their shots. Hikers on the Superior Hiking Trail have spotted bear but the bear run off as soon as they see or hear any sign of humans. But we do expect a bumper crop of wild berries this year so we also expect more wildlife than we have seen in the last few years

Split Rock Lighthouse is having a 100 year birthday party throughout 2010. It is a great time to visit the park as they are having events including frequent lighting of the light house beacon.

Our guest now have a great opportunity to see Lake Superior from the lake. One of our managers (Nate) is a Captain and has a first class charter boat rigged with the best equipment. He can take guests out for an early morning fishing adventure or he can take you out on a romantic evening cruise. The shoreline view from his boat is spectacular.

This year we are seeing a large increase in the number of family reunions being held at the lodge. Maybe as a result of the economic problems of the last couple of years, people have decided it's time to get together this year. Usually a family reunion means renting two or three of our cottages and using that as a home base and then coming down to the newly re-modeled fish house to hand out as a group and to attend the camp fire.

Once again we have touched up the Crossings as a dining option. We have added more seating, and made the entire atmosphere more of an 'up north' feel.
