Summer is up and running…….and walking and biking and paddling….. on the North Shore. The beauty of the Lake stays the same, but other things change. The new Fjord Village cottage project is complete and guests are enjoying the walking paths, creeks and beauty that go with it. Cove Point Crossings has a completely new look in the dining area which features a fantastic panorama painted wall art. The Frisbee golf course has been re-worked and now has a much better flow in and out of the trees. The course is also a place you can take a very leisurely walk in the evening. And our Cove Point cottages have been updated and painted and Pine Cone cottage has been converted into a three bedroom accommodation. And then there are the wolves. For the first time in years, we are regularly spotting wolf down by Split Rock and in the Silver Bay area. It will be interesting to see what develops with the wolf, moose and deer sharing the habitat. This is an exciting time to watch not only the lake but also the wildlife in the area. This year we have two outstanding area fishermen on staff. They know where the hot spots are on Lake Superior and on the inland lakes. They can give you some advice on where you might want to go. June is a great value time to visit the shore. We look forward to seeing you Copyright ©2009 Steve Hillestad
